I'm starting to think being studiously careful is all a part of this quest. If she's not serious about protecting the water she was given at the start, how would the trolls know she was serious about them?

Good idea, Arua. Walk through that obvious trap. I guess that a few flowers will have to die for you to keep your word, but isn't that a metaphor for what you've been doing up until now?
