Ok so a small test I did here. You see I normally try and have a word on every panel, this helps slow the reader down and spend a bit of time on each panel thus giving some form of pacing to the page. However Silence doesn't really work with a onomatopoeia. So to get around this I zoomed the "screen" out so more of Arua and Cer'veja can be seen. This has two effects as it demonstrates the unknown of what is in the dark. And offers the chance to create a more complex drawing that the eye can linger on longer.

Worked. It created a real sense of stillness, and an expansive space just out of Arua's light.

It also set up the spook's appearance perfectly. It's as ugly as the street stalkers. Possibly a raw material.

I'm wondering if what Arua is smelling is death. She's been around death before, but I'm not sure she's familiar with the stench of lingering death. Written accounts describe it as an atmosphere unto itself. Decay and decomposition allowed to flourish to such an extent it becomes a part of the space it occupies.

I really liked to pull back. It added visual variety, which means it's more interesting. I agree with Maryalee, it does create a sense of stillness, unknown and builds tension. You did a great job with the light source and shadows created from it on this whole sequence. Kudos!
