Then Tom Chilton and Dave Kosak opened their mouths.
Last panel: Yah, Nixie severely overplayed her hand. Arua is about to call Old Maid on her.
My thoughts on the mater. The most I ever flew in WoD was to fly up in my garrison and say "yep I can fly now" then I flew back down did my manger work and logged off. So my impressions with the lack of flying are a little skewed as I never actually had a need to fly. Now that may change in Legion if I need to go out and about more.
But all that being said the game still has not come out yet and they may change their minds in time.
Beyond that, the issue is bigger than just flying itself. Blizzard earned itself a lot of distrust last time by the way they mishandled it. A LOT of people, myself among them, are still tender over what we consider a duplicitous path walked by members of the company during Warlords. Now they announce that flying will be available in Legion.
So far, so good.
Then on the Q&A panel Tom Chilton, not one of my favorite people at Blizzard, had a chance to answer the question in a way that would quiet all the grumbling. Instead, he punts and says "you can work on it at launch, complete in a later patch." Which, the way Blizzard operated last time, could mean 7.1 or 7.7.
Follow this up with an interview with Dave Kosak, published on Monday in which he says that they don't know "when" flying will be implemented because...
They "haven't finished designing the achievement."
The one we were told that we would be able to "complete in a later patch."
Fool me once.
So, forgive me for coming off like a pissed off bull, but all I hear so far is Blizzard doing the exact same thing they did last time. They are not providing any type of guarantee that they can't weasel on. I refuse to believe anything good about Legion until it ships.
