Pickles is perhaps one of my new favorite side characters.

So last Friday I had an adventure well donating blood. I was hooked up to the machine for two hours when the needle started to hurt. The tech made some adjustments and asked if I wanted to keep going but by that point I was done being there, so I asked the tech to take me off. He said "Ok, let me get something to clean you up." It was at this point I looked down at my arm and saw it as the tech said "looked like a murder scene." Well they cleaned me up, gave me a drink and then had me sit for ten min to make sure I was ok. Well ten mins came and went and I got up to leave. Fell out of the chair and onto the floor stood up and started waving and losing sight and hearing. Well they put me back down, packed some ice on my and I sent a message to my folks asking them to come get me. We still don't know all that went wrong but my family members who are seen more donations then I have said that there was a very abnormal amount of blood on my arm so I think it's safe to say something did indeed go wrong.

At the end of it all the thing that bothered me the most. Didn't get Gratz done that day so I had to cram Saturday and Sunday. Got to have your priorities.

Sheesh, that was an adventure all right. How big a bruise is on your arm today? Either something happened with your vein, or the tech didn't secure the needle securely enough and it worked loose and scratched the vein wall. Also, if your family noticed the blood, sounds like the tech didn't clean you up very well.

First official week of May and for that week: 05/02/21 - 05/08/21, GRATZ counted 97 votes, average of 13.85 votes/day and ending the week at #181 on the Top Webcomic List. This is MUCH better start than April, so we just need to keep voting, keep pushing higher.

The family noticed the blood because I took a picture of it pre clean up. Sorry I forgot to include that.

The bruise is about 6x6 inc now at the dark crimson rash stage. So its healing along fine.

Injuries I don't mind to much as I have been able to sleep most of them off. I've split my face open twice and still found simple pain meds and sleep works wonders.

sorry about you misadventure donating blood. sadly I am still unable to donate blood due to 2.5 year stay in the U.K (Scotland to be precise), due to mad cow disease. :(

I didn't donate for altruistic means. I did my two visits so my little sis is able to get her referral bonus so some good has come of it. Then pay for me was nice as well, but I had problems with the machine both times I went and I'm scared of getting stuck with needles so I don't think I'll be doing it again.

Don't know if they'll let you donate again but if you want to I hope they find away so you can.

I know a few people who always have similar problems with medical vampires' activities, including veins which run and hide in the presence of a needle; me, never. I spent a decade donating platelets every other week until I had problems with hypertension, with my whole blood going into a separator and everything else coming back in. Upon the approach of a needle, the appropriate vein stands at attention.

I've never donated blood before (despite having O-, I believe), but it sounds like the tech should've been keeping a closer eye on you.

My sister said I should have been watching the needle. If I did that I may have wigged out and left my arm there well the rest of me ran for the hills.

Pickles really can't catch a break as a guard dog, can he?

No doesn't look like it. But when he can he's got a nice soft bed to sleep in.

That's all any of us really want in life, I think.
