NEW MONTH.
On Monday, May 25, I predicted, based on voting patterns, that GRATZ would reach #394 - #397 with between 158-164 votes.
Then I basically challenged all of you to go "NOPE, wrong."
That was deliberate.
For the month of May, GRATZ achieved a ranking of #376, with 173 total votes.
So, what was I looking at back on last Monday, and what happened by yesterday?
When I look at "medians" I'm examining voting patterns over a specific time period. Example:
Between May 1 - May 8; voting averaged 4.5 a day.
Between May 9 - May 15; average of 5.7 daily
Between May 16 - May 22; average of 5.4 daily
So what I was looking for between May 23 and end of month was between 4.8 - 5.5 daily. The low based on the fact the month would end on a weekend, traditionally "low turnout."
What happened instead?
Between May 23 - May 31; average daily...*6.5*.
Had that 6.5 average been maintained the entire month the comic would have grossed 201.5 ish votes. Back on March 29, the comic hit #335 with 201 votes. I was too tired last night to check and see where we could have landed.
This is why I have harped on voting in the past. Every daily vote can make a difference. Let's see if we can beat that 6.5 daily average for the entire month.
So if my math is right, (and it hardly is) 3.32% of viewers voted for Gratz. (not discounting anyone who voted multiple times some how.) A issue to consider is I have no idea how this stacks up against the viewer numbers for the top 100 comics. So I can't tell if 3.32% is a strong reader to voter turn out or a low reader to viewer turn out.
But just some more fun numbers to to look at.
Also one more number to announce.
Gratz rating: 1000 scores have been given! 4.98/5.0!
If 3.32% is strong, then the top of the list has a huge readership, which given the content of the highest is probably true. There are other comics with I know have a very passionate viewer base, always have tons of comments on pages, yet place nowhere near the top 100.
So, passionate engaged readers =/= high placement; but, conversely, with a large reader base the comic doesn't need as heavy a % of engagement to rank.
