Things are looking up, and up, and up, then up some more.

Anyone have any good fog stories? I had one summer where the nats where so bad it created a fog. Another time I went sledding in some fog as well, tired to use it to sneak up on some ducks but it didn't do much.

I haz aheepa[0] stories about the tule fogs in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys of California. When they settle over Interstate Five they contribute to immense pileups which frequently kill minor hordes.

[0] When I were a sprog I saw a play in which a minor character kept talking about aheepatape.

That quite some fog alright. I looked up some pictures and that's thicker then anything I can really remember being in.

Tirea has made an important discovery: The Theory of Relativity.

A few yards of room is practically a sportsball field, relative to 3 inches or less of very precipitous ledge.

And Veja continues to be nervous. This is out of character for him. Normally he's only uneasy when there's imminent danger. Verily.

I don't know if that ledge is going to be holding the next superbowl. But it may as well far as Tirea is concerned.

Why do we fight?

To protect Home, and Family....

...Sorry, wrong speech.

Why vote on a webcomic? Why bother? Right at this very moment, GRATZ is #366 on the Top Webcomics list, with 34 votes. What does that mean, and why is it important? Let's take a brief look at the Top Webcomic site itself.

Top Webcomics is a list, and the number represents a comics ranking on that list, determined by the number of votes it has. So right now GRATZ is the 366th comic on the list. Now, the list has over "12,000" titles, so #366 is in no way terrible. So, if it's not terrible, why isn't it good enough? Does it have to be #1?

No. It doesn't have to be #1, and that's not even our goal. Looking at the top 3 illustrates why: #1 currently has 3,862 votes; #2 has 3,452, and #3 has 3,278. We don't have that kind of readership yet. We also don't have *that* kind of readership, because 2 of those titles are, generously, soft-core porn. Even so, they didn't get those kind of readership number overnight, they grew their audience. How?

By getting noticed.

The more people who saw them, the more who stuck around. The more people reading, the more people who become loyal voters.

"But..." you form the question, "we don't have that many readers, so how does GRATZ get noticed by more people?"

We don't need those kind of numbers to start; because that kind of competition only exists at the very top. Things begin thinning out relatively quickly.

Moving down to #100 on the list, the very bottom of the first page, it has only 250 votes today. Title #150, half-way down page 2 is 189 votes. #200, at the very bottom of the 2nd page is 140 votes. By the time you get to #250 you're looking at only 76 votes; and #300, bottom of Page 3, is only 53 votes.

Remember how many votes I said GRATZ had right now?

19 votes separates GRATZ from #300.

Practically NO ONE, reads past page 3 of the list. That's just too much of an effort. Most people are going to think that if a comic is that far down that it's not worth it. Getting to Page 3 is the first step to increasing visibility. That's the first goal we should be looking at.

The how is easy: just vote.

I know what our voting numbers are. What I *don't* know is our unique daily visitor count. I don't have access to that, and I don't even know if TWC gives Lacking that information. What I've seen this month is a daily high of 9 votes. Last month I saw several days with 10. If we had 31 days of 10 votes a day that would be 310 votes and GRATZ could break #300 and hit the 3rd page of the list.

The higher it ranks, the more potential readers. The higher it can go.

You can vote once, ever 24 hours, each day. It's the easiest thing you will do all day, and takes literally less than a minute:

1. Pull up the website.
2. Clock the voting button at the top.
3. Answer the voting picture.

Your vote is registered.

If you love what Lackinganame is creating for you here, consider taking a minute each day to say thanks. You could be helping someone new to some day discover and enjoy what you do.

Do you remember past voting numbers or do you have them written down some where?

Thanks for you hard work, I hope some people vote just for your efforts.

I have all stats for the past two years since I started keeping track. This day in 2018, GRATZ was #525, with 21 votes. This day in 2019 it was #424, 29 votes.

I temporarily stopped keeping track last April...very temporarily. Other than that I could tell you on a day to day basis. My efforts are just math; it wouldn't mean anything without your creativity.
