I'm thinking night will be their best bet. The guards are sure to get lazy at some point, and they wouldn't think anyone would do something crazy hanging over a spike pit.

Lacking, I know you're looking at 8.2, but you might want to give some thought to 8.1.5. From what I've been reading, Baine gets himself arrested for direct insubordination. He might need help for a Jailbreak.
