Last week I got a nice message expressing concern over what will happen with Xura.

I tried to reply but I just couldn't come up with a response that didn't feel like it was giving away the story.

So sorry you had to wait until now to find out what will happen to Xura.

I want to believe it wasn't the only way it could end Xura. I want to believe that you could choose to rise above the evil of your origin. I want to believe that you could have made a different choice. And I want to believe The Light could have provided a miracle.

I couldn't give it away in answer to your question.

The matter of what happens to Xura is a complex one. She did a lot of wrong and personal murdered Arua's friend. So the dynamics of can Arua forgive Xura for that and can Xura forgive her self is all a lot to try and cover in the last few pages of this story.

So I played the a "jail brake" card and just had Xura kind of drop out of the picture.

Think of it kind of like Darth Vader. In the end he stopped the emperor and saved Luke but not before he had done a lot of wrong. Had he been allowed to live what would become of him? Prisoner? Hero? Who was he?

It's a redeeming story is very good and I don't want to just mash something in right now at the expense of Arua's story concluding.

Sometimes people can make the right choice too late. Sometimes they make a choice assuming the consequences of the choice. That is what I feel here. It feels as though she realized she was in the wrong, and that the only choice she had was to die for that. Personally, I believe The Light has more forgiveness than retribution. But I don't control the story.

P.S. Nice perspective work on Xura's eyes. Going from subtly focused on the ash in her hand in panel 4, to staring down Moff's spirit in panel 5.
