Well good superbowl game. But I'll admit, When I heard those kashmir cords I thought "Uh-oh your selling for some dangers waters."

Well the week moves on and brings with it a new voting picture and last months voting picture is now in the extra gallery.

The story unfolds as the crack widens into a chimney. Will it stay just wide enough just far enough? Will the fog lift? Will they survive the goats? Stay tuned.

A new year has begun.

For the first month of the new year, GRATZ ended the month of January at #410 on the Top Webcomic list, with 163 total votes. That's an average of 5.26 votes a day. To put this in perspective, it represents a major improvement from where the comic was in January of 2018 when it ended that month at #538, with only 101 votes.

However, it's also a major decline from it's standing at the beginning of January 2019, when it peaked at #305, with 282 total votes: almost 9.1 a day average. In fact, the comic was hitting mid to low 300s starting in October 2018: 316, 327 364, before hitting that high-water mark in January 2019. It would not hit below #400 for the remainder of the year, except for one time in August 2019.

I have no more answers for WHY the dip happened than I did in April of last year.

According to Lacking's post in December, the comic has some new subscribers; possibly folk not familiar with me. ...Methink I shall do a Voting post this Wednesday, and explain why this is a bigish deal.

I think the voting peaked was because the "newness" of the vote button set in then so more people where interested in it. I think the "newness" has worn off now and it's kind of just a fixture of the page now. So I wouldn't worry about it to much.

Well I can't say for certain why the new subscribers joined, they did join when I did a 10 day ad test on TWC. Rather that was related to their joining or not I don't know but it did happen in the time frame window.

Do what you want just try not to burn yourself out again ok.

That voting button was around for a loooong time before then. I mined out the code for the original one before you got the new one from TWC, so there's been a button for awhile.

On the other hand, I believe that the only things in life that are coincidences are the ones that are. Or, as Yogi Berra said “That’s too coincidental to be a coincidence.”

And no chance of that. Now that I realize what happened I'm not going over again. And it may just take some of the fixture out of that button.
